My Story
#2.6 challenge
The London marathon which should have taken place on the 26th of February is one of the biggest fundraising events of the world. Due to the Corona Pandemic it had to be canceled this year. Nevertheless the organizing team came up with the 2.6 challenge to enable fundraising for charities like Brass for Africa. https://www.twopointsixchallenge.co.uk/
#Creating brighter futures through music
Brass for Africa was founded in 2009. It all started with a donation of 30 old Brass instruments.
Today Brass for Africa reaches over 900 young people in Uganda, Rwanda and Liberia. Two times a week the teachers go out to several communities and partner projects to teach brass instruments to disadvantaged children. Through learning an instrument the children do not only gain a new way of expressing themselves but also have the opportunity to learn important skills like perseverance, communication, self confidence and teamwork. By combining music and life skills Brass for Africa empowers children in their communities and opens doors for them as many success stories show. Since the teachers also profited from the program when they were young they know challenges and problems that the children in their classes might face and can support them.
